What if this war was a soccer match?
This post was inspired by one of my favorite Russian publicists, Dmitry Olshansky...
Can you imagine if this Russo-Ukrainian war was a soccer match? In this match Ukrainian team, cheered by a loud minority on the stands that are throwing at them more and more footballs and thick wads of cash, scores goal after goal into the empty gate. They take selfies in front of it and hug each other and celebrity spectators allowed to come into the field with every scored point. At the same time they are shaking fists and showing angry faces to a few vocal fans among the silent majority spectators who dared to support their opponents. Meanwhile Russian National team wanders aimlessly around the field, runs away from their gate at the first sign of impending attack. Their goalkeeper decided to leave the field all together for the stands, is sitting there smoking a cigarette and explains to those who want to listen: "But we had to do it this way. We are very humane! We had no other choice!"
