The theory that Putin is a Western plant isnt that convincing because presumably in that case Putin wouldn't have done anything different than Yeltsin what so ever. The 90s disintegration of Russia would have just rolled on but the brakes were pumped a bit after Putin became head of state. The theory that present day Putin isnt even real is possible but I kinda feel like if he died the Russians would have just buried him and said so without any elaborate conspiracy to trick people into thinking he is still alive.
The theory that Putin simply doesn't have much real authority of his own seems the most likely imo. Like Yeltsin he is just a go between/middle man for the Oligarchy and silovaks and he can't do anything without some consensus between those groups. The only significant difference between him and Yeltsin is that Putin has more sympathy for the silovaks and doesn't always try to give the liberal Oligarchs everything they want.
A very good example of this dynamic is Russias reaction to the events in Ukraine in 2014-15. Russia moved very fast and competently to secure crimea but than went on to cock block the LNR/DNR militias from winning too much on the battlefield and observed the minsk agreements which Ukraine constantly violated. This seems schizo but viewed as a compromise between the Oligarchy and silovaks it makes sense. The silovaks got crimea but the Oligarchs got the minsk agreements and a cessation of active combat on unfavorable terms for the LNR/DNR.
This of course doesn't mean the silovaks are good, they are just not interested in totally destroying russia because they need russia alive and somewhat strong because Russia is their source of influence and they keep their ill gotten gains in Russia more or less. Basically they are patriotic parasites who want to be real partners of the West whereas the Oligarchs are true rootless Cosmopolitan parasites who would happily be outright vassals if they made a few more dollars that way. Putin imo has no power to make unilateral decisions at all and has to get these 2 groups to come to some sort of arrangement before any real change of course is made by the Russian state. Maybe the price for partial mobilization of the army was giving up Kherson or something like that?
Hi Stanley, this is an excellent post. I watched the Putin video, focusing on his ears. He has a weird ridge below the ear openings on both ears which is consistent throughout the videos. Another anomaly is above the ear opening on the left ear. It is the same in '04 and '18. Because of that I conclude it's the same guy. He did put a bit of weight on his jowls.
"Putin is the most benevolent ruler of the 21st century so far and a very decent human being." Did you mean that seriously??! He absolutely is not! He is on board with the genocidal covid shots knowing he is decimating his own people, and is pursuing the population enslavement agenda coming from the world ruling class.
Yes, actually the photo I have posted of Putin in 2000 and 2020 upon closer examination also tells me that most likely this is the same guy. Specifically looking at the lines on his forehead, they follow the same angles before and now. These lines were more pronounced in 2000 but even though they were smoothed out in 2020 (thank you Botox!) overall pattern is the same and that would be hard to reconstruct even using plastic surgery.
As for the Putin being the "most benevolent ruler of the 21st century" - this was to provoke the critical thought on the part of my readers. There is a Putin's aficionados club in the West, people that think of him as a great leader. Obviously you don't belong to that group, but for the people who do, I'd like to hear their arguments why Putin in their opinion is good for Russia and is good for the world.
Main point of this post was not about Putin, though. It was about the strange and utterly bizarre situation when country that is supposedly at war with the entire Western coalition is sponsoring its enemy to the tune of almost a trillion dollars in one year! And this is happening under the watch of supposedly patriotic leader of Russia. I'm surprised how few people, even inside of Russia, are paying attention to that. Strange war, strange times we live through.
Thank you for this post. There are many on the dissident pro-Russia who are extremely unwilling to consider the possibility that Putin is a pro-globohomo puppet shill, such as Rolo Slavsky; he gets angry when confronted with this possibility. Sad!
Russia as the savior of western civilization is a cope at the moment. Strelkov and some bloggers like you, Edward Slavsquach and Anti-Empire have done a good job demonstrating the abject corruption of current Russian leaders, including and especially Putin; they have a state ruled by a combination of oligarchical (mostly Jewish) theifs and the security state. These leaders *do not* want to encourage Russian populism, which is part of the reason why the Russian security state has assassinated a *lot* of Donbass populists since the Maiden revolution, and it's why Russia is performing so listlessly in Ukraine. Putin is being slowly backed into a corner and may be forced, extremely reluctantly, to turn populist as Russian bodycounts rise to high levels, but it has not happened yet and he *really* doesn't want to do it.
Meanwhile fertility in Russia is extremely low, there is no "white nationalism" to speak of (Russia is not race conscious at all), abortion is legal, and despite the Eastern Orthodox Church being meme'd here in the west, actual Church attendance in Russia is abysmal and way, way lower than in the West. (On the plus side, Russia is anti-faggot).
Re: Putin himself, you are correct that he has a World Economic Forum puppet as the head of the Russian Central Bank. Also, he was onboard with implementing globohomo COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates and vaccine passports , he is hard at work advancing central bank digital currencies, and his initial rise within Russia was due to his support of the West and his willingness to let them pillage Russia. In my opinion he is simply a weak empty-vessel puppet for the Rothschild central bank owners of the world.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, NV. While I may disagree with you on some finer points, overall I think that your assessment of the situation is correct. As usual, situation in any country, but especially in Russia, a complex multicultural society with rich history, is very diverse and difficult to read into, let alone to reliably predict the course of events, but we can see that Russia is on the cusp of change, something that is either going to lead to its disintegration or just the opposite, country uniting more and finally coming to the state of sovereignty that it only claimed it had for the past 35 years. There are signs of these possibilities on both sides of the probable turn of events. We'll have to wait and see. Probably the outcomes will become clear during the course of this year.
The head of the Russian Central Bank just implements the Washington Consensus policy prescriptions, as most central banks do. Since the Japanese Central Bank started doing that, the Japanese economy has suffered from economic stagnation. I am wondering how a country can make its central bank independent of Washington.
Exactly the right definition, Sonja - "Washington consensus". The term was coined not that long ago, back in 1989, and essentially means how finances of the third world countries should be managed. Initially it applied to South America, but as Soviet Union was dissolved, Russia was given the status like that of Brasil or Argentina. The consensus consists of the three core principles - manage population using Darwinian principles, tightly control money supply primarily by the means of high interest rates, do everything possible to prevent internal investments in the manufacturing sector or anything else working to develop own economy and to create a favorable internal investment climate. The extent to which this consensus is applied to countries varies - Russia gets one of the harshest treatments. Now the bigger question is, how and why Russian fiscal authorities during the all out proxy war are still compliant with imposed rules? This drives many people to conclusion that perhaps this is not a real war between Russia and the West, but a make believe conflict at the expense of Ukraine designed to achieve totally different goals vs. those pronounced by Putin last February.
The extent of the subsidy is astonishing. It's treasonous in effect and maybe intent, too. It's hard for me to tell. The oligarchs are certainly happy to balkanize and immiserate all of Russia if it means they can go skiing in Switzerland. They have proven form on this.

Hi Stanley, do you have an email (or throwaway email) one can contact you off-board? Thanks!
Of course, NV. You can reach me at stansheppard@protonmail.com
It seems to me that Putin also had cheek implants.
